It does not require unique talent to start writing when it is for self growth. It is one of the easiest, time-saving and effective habit that brings the change in a lifestyle within a few days if done with consistency.

As for the beginner or experienced ones, it is always recommended to keep journals or diary keeping. Here are a few tips on what to write to aid the personal growth.

  1. Get yourself a journal with intimidating cover, positively quoted or a colorful as you like.
  1. Write at the end of the day, for 5-10 minutes. Choose whatever you think needs more attention right now. It can be about the behavior, dreams or possibly about anything that is important.
  1. The effective way to start writing is to map out one page into 4 partitions. For an instance, pen down the first heading as “How was it today”. Mark the second part as “what went well” or “what to be grateful for today”. The third would include “what went wrong” or “what was not good”. Lastly, but the most important one, is to write “How you reacted to the situations- good and bad and what could be done differently”.
  1. There are multiple other ways to start writing. Most people start with writing down with what they are grateful for, the triggers to their bad behavior or generally, their thoughts . Just choose what feels the best to you and remember to refrain from writing too many negative things into your journal.
